The 1st National Safe-Motherhood Conference in Uganda:
The 1st National Safe-Motherhood conference scheduled for 28th and 29th October 2021 will offer us the opportunity to reflect on the progress made as of 2021 in delivering the different components of Safe-motherhood at the country level. The conference will provide input in key agenda and campaigns focused on improving maternal and newborn health in Uganda and addressing the leading causes of maternal and perinatal mortality.
To review current progress in addressing the leading causes of maternal and perinatal mortality and share strategies to accelerate the reduction of preventable deaths among mothers and newborns.
Objectives of the conference:
1. To share and launch the Maternal and perinatal death surveillance and response report financial year 2020/2021
2. To share and launch the revised Essential Maternal and Newborn Clinical Guidelines
3. To discuss current progress in implementing the various interventions in addressing preventable maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity.
4. To build a robust multistakeholder task force to revamp involvement of the private sector, policymakers on matters of maternal and newborn health
